OTL

Organic Tanned Leather is a genuine material innovation, a more sustainable tanning process with real technical credentials. The creative challenge was giving that story a visual language that felt as considered as the technology itself.

We built a distinct graphic identity for OTL that could carry across website, social and brand communications, grounded enough to communicate reliability and process, but visually confident enough to stand apart from conventional leather branding. The system extended into collaborations with other brands, where consistency of identity was essential.

The first collaboration was with Isaak Reina for At.Kollektive, a natural fit for a material defined by process and purity. Isaak's work for the project returned to his roots: pure form, geometry, and a quiet nod to Le Corbusier's design language. The result felt less like a brand partnership and more like a shared point of view.

To mark 60 years of ECCO, the OTL collection was presented through its full colour range, a palette that moves from the foundational to the unexpected. Black, white and natural as anchors. Lapis blue, cashew and chestnut as the range's character.

Each colour was chosen to show what organic tanning makes possible: depth, warmth and variation that synthetic processes rarely achieve. Heritage as a reason to go further, not play it safe.
